LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A Long Island City man was arrested on assault charges after prosecutors said he attacked two FDNY officers responding to an emergency in the neighborhood.
The first responders were giving someone medical assistance at NYCHA's Queensbridge Houses on Monday afternoon when Clarence Smith yelled at them to "get out of the way," according to the Queens District Attorney's Office.
Smith, 37, grabbed one of the firefighters, pushed her against a wall and swung at her, prosecutors said.
