Man Robs Astoria Liquor Store, Threatens To Shoot Worker: NYPD

A man stole $450 cash from an Astoria liquor store Wednesday after threatening to shoot a worker if she did not give him money, police said.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A man stole $450 cash from an Astoria liquor store after threatening to shoot an employee if she did not give him money, according to the police.

The unidentified man walked into 34 Avenue Liquors on Wednesday afternoon and told a worker to give him cash or he would shoot her, the NYPD said in a news release.

She opened the cash register and handed over the bills.

The man left the store and went into the Steinway Street N/R subway station.

Police described the man as wearing a black knit cap, black sunglasses, a blue surgical mask, black gloves, a black hooded coat, blue jeans and black sneakers.
