ASTORIA, QUEENS — Thousands of Astoria residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to data released Tuesday.

More than 12,000 people living in four Astoria ZIP codes — 11102, 11103, 11105 and 11106 — received either one or both shots of the two-shot vaccine, an analysis of NYC Department of Health vaccination data shows.

That means about 10 percent of Astoria's population has been partially or fully vaccinated, counting all four ZIP codes, according to the data.

The data released Tuesday indicates that more people have gotten vaccinated in wealthier, whiter parts of the city, even in spite of city efforts to promote equity in the rollout of the vaccine amid a pandemic that has hit low-income neighborhoods and communities of color hardest.

The Manhattan ZIP code 10025, which includes Morningside Heights and the Upper West Side, saw 15,423 people with at least one dose — the most of any one ZIP code.

In Astoria, about 5,200 residents got both doses and are considered fully vaccinated, the data shows. Another 6,800 residents have so far received one vaccine dose.
