New Seafood Spot To Open In Astoria
The team behind the Mexican eatery Tacuba is opening a seafood restaurant inside it.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — The team behind the Mexican eatery Tacuba is opening a new seafood spot in Astoria this week.
El Fish Shack — which is located inside Tacuba, at 35-01 36th St., but has its own entrance on 35th Avenue — will start serving its menu of daily catches Thursday, according to a news release.
Chef Julian Medina's menu draws inspiration from Mexican and American cuisines, as well as the Greek and Mediterranean-style dishes popular in Astoria.

Offerings include steamed or grilled whole lobsters; three different preparations of steamed mussels; seafood soups; "Fried Shack Buckets" with calamari, clams, oysters and shrimp; and a twist on the traditional Peruvian soup chupe, featuring potatoes, shrimp, choclo, carrots, ají panca and queso fresco.
