WOODSIDE, QUEENS — Several instances of vandalism and tire slashings happened in Woodside this month, according to the police and news sources.

A 47-year-old man in the neighborhood said he parked his car near 64th Street and 51st Avenue around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and when he returned around 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday he discovered it had been vandalized with spray paint and had its tires slashed, according to the NYPD.

CBS New York reported that a home on 63rd Street was spray-painted with hate symbols on that same Tuesday night. According to the news outlet, a car belonging to someone who lives in the vandalized house also had its four tires slashed two weeks ago.

The Woodside resident whose house was vandalized told CBS New York that she thinks targeting her house and car was a case of mistaken identity.

“I’m hoping the culprit comes to know that this is not the house that he thinks it is,” she told the news outlet, adding ““we’re just worried for more vandalism. Tire slashings cost you your deductible, even if you have insurance.”
