Queens Public Library Postpones Plans To Restart Computer Access
The Queens Public Library is indefinitely postponing plans to reopen computers and printers for public use at seven branches.
QUEENS, NY — The Queens Public Library is indefinitely postponing plans to reopen computers and printers for public use at seven branches across the borough, citing the uptick in COVID-19 cases in and around New York City.
The library system had been set to open reservations Monday to use a computer from Nov. 23 on at the Cambria Heights, East Elmhurst, Fresh Meadows, Laurelton, Long Island City, Peninsula and South Ozone Park branches.
"We hope to move forward with it at the appropriate time," a Queens Public Library spokesperson wrote in an emailed statement. "The health and safety of our staff and the public remain paramount and are at the forefront of every decision we make. We apologize for any inconvenience."
