LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Coldplay is coming to Long Island City this Thursday.
The award-winning rock band is taking to the Hunters Point South Park stage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, for fully vaccinated fans who are over the age of 18, according to a website that the band shared on their Twitter.
Anyone who is interested can apply for the free tickets online with a pod of up to two people by entering two emails, and answering a question about why you love Coldplay.

The tickets will be sent out on a first-come, first-served basis once both people in the pod have confirmed their attendance, according to the ticket website.
According to the LIC post, the band’s performance is part of the annual Macy’s July 4th celebration, which culminates in a 25-minute fireworks show — the first to happen in the city since the COVID pandemic.

The fireworks start around 9:45 p.m. on July 4th, but networks host televised celebrations leading up to the event, including NBC, which will air the pre-taped Coldplay recording as part of their Independence Day show, the LIC post reported.
