SEE IT: Long Island City Woman Celebrates 100th Birthday
The lifelong Long Island City resident celebrated her 100th birthday Wednesday alongside a team of first responders.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Long Island City resident Dotty Byrne celebrated her 100th birthday Wednesday with the help of a team of first responders.
A video posted to social media captures the NYPD's 108th Precinct honoring Byrne's first day as a centenarian with a bouquet of blue roses.
The officers were joined by members of FDNY Ladder 115.

Byrne is a lifelong Long Island City resident. She attended P.S. 1, before it became a branch of the Museum of Modern Art, and St. Mary's Catholic School.
And she has always loved her first responders, according to NYPD Sergeant Jessica McRorie, a department spokesperson.

So, when the 108th Precinct got a call from one of Byrne's relatives about the upcoming milestone, the officers leapt into action.
