ASTORIA, QUEENS — Tropical Storm Isaias made its mark on Astoria as it tore through the city Tuesday.

The storm's 70 mph winds managed to damage trees and completely uproot others in Astoria Park and along sidewalks throughout the neighborhood, photos and videos show.

At least 2,000 trees were knocked down or otherwise damaged across the five boroughs, Mayor Bill de Blasio told 1010 WINS in an interview Tuesday afternoon.

In one case, it proved fatal: A man was killed in Briarwood after a tree came down on his car.

The storm also knocked out power for an estimated 200 Astoria residents, according to Con Edison's power outage map.
