19-Year-Old Woman Killed, 4 Hurt In Southern State Crash

The single-car crash occurred early Saturday, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY – A 19-year-old woman was killed and four other people were injured in a single-car crash on the Southern State Parkway early Saturday, State Police said.

According to police, Tania Bonilla was driving a 2019 Honda Civic in the left lane on the eastbound Southern State at the Exit 41A northbound ramp to the Sagtikos State Parkway in Bay Shore shortly before 3 a.m. when the car left the roadway. The driver’s side of the car struck a guide rail on the right shoulder, police said.

Bonilla, of Brentwood, was taken to Southside Hospital where she died from her injuries, police said. The four passengers in the car were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
