2 Gas Company Workers Hurt After Small Explosion In Bay Shore: PD

The two people were filling propane tanks when the small explosion occurred Monday night.

BAY SHORE, NY — Two gas company employees were hurt after a small explosion in Bay Shore Monday night, according to Suffolk police.

The two people, who worked for Paraco Gas on Corbin Avenue, were filling propane tanks when a small explosion occurred at 6:30 p.m.

The two people were transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of burns.

Members of the Bay Shore, Brentwood, North Babylon, Deer Park and West Islip Fire Departments responded, as well as the Town of Islip Hazmat Team and Town of Islip Fire Marshal.
