Bay Shore Lord & Taylor Set To Close, Store Closing Sale Underway

BAY SHORE, NY — The Lord & Taylor store in Bay Shore will be closing, leaving only three Long Island locations for the department store chain. The chain's parent company, Le Tote, Inc., announced on August 2 that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Lord & Taylor is the latest in big-chain companies to file for bankruptcy amid the coronavirus pandemic, which also includes Men's Wearhouse and Jos. A. Bank.

The store closing process for Lord & Taylor has already begun at the 19 locations, including at the Bay Shore location in the Westfield South Shore Mall on 1701 Sunrise Highway. The business began hosting a store closing sale following the announcement this month. An exact closing date has not yet been announced. According to the Westfield website, returns will no longer be accepted at the store and starting August 14, the location will not accept online returns.

Any items purchased during the store closing sale are final sale. The store can no longer honor coupons, mall certificates, Lord & Taylor Reward/Award Cards or prices offered at other Lord & Taylor locations.

Following the closing, only three Lord & Taylor will remain on Long Island on 1440 Northern Boulevard in Manhasset, at the Walt Whitman Mall on 158 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station and at Roosevelt Field Mall on 1200 Franklin Avenue in Garden City.
