Bay Shore Woman Asking The Community For Help In Search For Dog
The woman who says her dog was stolen last week is asking local residents to help bring her dog back home.

BAY SHORE, NY — One Bay Shore woman is asking the community for help to find her dog, who she said was stolen last month.
Hevelin Martinez told Patch that her dog, Mariposa, escaped from her home and ran out onto Fifth Avenue on Dec. 19. The dog ran south of the street and Martinez tried to see where she was going, but traffic was blocking her view.
She went to grab her keys to go find her by car and while she did that, Martinez said that a witness tried to get out of her car to grab the dog but was unsuccessful.

The woman then told Martinez that the dog ran over to the car behind her and was picked up by another person. When the woman offered to take the dog to the shelter to get her chip read, the person who caught the dog rejected the offer, according to Martinez.
"It’s been two weeks and the person who caught my dog has not come forward," she said. "I urgently need your assistance with helping me find that lady who caught my dog."
