Firefighters Rescue 7 Ducklings From Storm Drain

BAY SHORE, NY — Firefighters rescued seven baby ducklings that got stuck in a storm drain in Bay Shore Sunday evening.

Members of the Bay Shore Fire Department received a call to assist in saving the ducklings who had fallen into a storm drain on Mystic Circle at about 6 p.m.

Crews found the ducklings 10 feet down in the drain.

After the space was checked with metering equipment, members of the fire department entered the drain and rescued all the ducklings.

The ducklings were uninjured and returned to the concerned parents waiting nearby.
