“Small Business Saturday” is a national movement reminding all to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost local economies and help preserve local downtowns.

“I encourage everyone to shop your local small business this Saturday, November 24th, and to continue to ‘shop small’ throughout the holiday season and New Year,” Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter said. “Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, accounting for nearly 50 percent of all employees in the private sector, and are instrumental in capturing the unique charm and service that define the downtown shopping experience.”
