Man Killed In Bay Shore Hit-And-Run; Police Search For Suspect
Suffolk police said the driver of a 2020 Nissan Altima rental car hit the man on the Sunrise Highway then ran away.
BAY SHORE, NY — A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on the Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore Saturday night, Suffolk police said.
According to police, the man, who has not been identified, was crossing the highway when he was hit by the driver of a rented 2020 Nissan Altima about 300 feet east of the 5th Avenue bridge. The rental car driver, which was heading west, fled the scene on foot.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
