Indoor Ice Skating Rink Opens At Westfield South Shore Mall

BAY SHORE, NY — For those who want to enjoy ice-skating in the comforts of the indoors, Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore announced on Tuesday that launch of a new indoor ice-skating rink.

The rink, which is now open for guests, is located in Macy’s Court inside the mall on Sunrise Highway. The rink’s synthetic ice surface is made of a self-curing plastic polymer that allows guests to enjoy skating without getting cold or wet.

"We are thrilled to bring this fun and nostalgic winter pastime indoors for families to enjoy," Noe DiLeo, Shopping Center Manager said.

Open skating sessions at the rink are available every day through Dec. 31. The session times are listed below:

Monday through Friday:

• 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday:

• 11 a.m. to 12 noon
• 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
• 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Skating sessions are $10 per person; children 5 and under skate for free. Skate rentals, helmet rentals, and skate helper rentals are also available for $5 each. The rink is also available to be rented out for private parties/group skating sessions.

All skaters are required to follow the mall's enhanced COVID-19 safety protocols, including wearing face masks at all times.
