Islip Arts Council Gallery Space Opens In Bay Shore Mall

The gallery will show rotating exhibits and host community arts classes and events.

BAY SHORE, NY —A new gallery space at the Westfield South Shore Mall in Bay Shore has opened. The Islip Arts Council Gallery will be open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, showing rotating art exhibits as well as hosting community classes and workshops.

The gallery is next to Dick's Sporting Goods at the mall, 1701 Sunrise Highway, Bay Shore.

A ribbon cutting ceremony opened the space with its first show, called "Facing Our Future."

“Art has a special way of connecting us, whether it be fine art, spoken word or music,” said Suffolk Legislator Susan A. Berland, who attended the opening.

“I am so pleased to welcome the Islip Arts Council’s new gallery to the 16th Legislative District and I congratulate them on a successful grand opening. I hope you will visit them soon to view the unique local art on display, to sign up for a class or to purchase some beautiful artwork.”
