BAY SHORE, NY - ITA Kitchen in Bay Shore is officially open for business.
The new 2,300 square-foot Italian restaurant opened its doors on 45 W Main Street last month.
This is owner and chef Salvatore Sorrentino's first solo venture after working at Andrea's 25 in Commack, which is owned by his brother, Matthew Sorrentino and cousin, Peter Campisi. The trio opened the restaurant in honor of Matthew and Salvatore's father, Andrew Sorrentino, who passed away in 2009.

"Look if someone's wearing flip-flops, we're not going to turn them away," Christina Sorrentino, Sal's wife, said.
The eatery's clean lines are met with pops of color in the modern, welcoming space. The decor also includes graffiti and twists on modern shorthand, like turning LOL into 'Lots of Linguine.'
"We like to cater to everyone, families, after work drinks, date nights, celebration and everything in between," Christina said.
Less than one month since opening and the reception from the Bay Shore community has been "wonderful," according to Christina. So far, ITA's biggest seller has been their meatball, which is smothered in their famous San Marzano tomato sauce, and the veal chop.

In addition, the menu includes a variety of modern "fusion" foods, such as the rabe and sausage egg rolls, burrata avocado toast, and Italian street corn.
There are also a variety of specials throughout the week, including Ladies' nights on Wednesdays, happy hour specials and Sunday family style meal specials.
ITA Kitchen is open for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
