New Gastropub To Open In Bay Shore

BAY SHORE, NY - A new gastropub will be opening in Bay Shore next week.

The Lindwood Restaurant and Cocktails is planning on opening its doors on 150 E. Main Street on Tuesday, June 18 starting at 4 p.m.

The site was previously home to Fatwood Southern Kitchen, which closed down last December after only 5 months in business.

According to the website, the eatery is named after the Linwood Hotel which was established in 1888.

Located on the Southeast corner of South Clinton Avenue and Linden Place, the Linwood Hotel temporarily housed World War I Navy flyers from the Bay Shore Aero Station while their barracks were being constructed.

The Linwood was destroyed by fire on October 11, 1925.
