Our Healhcare be not be a secret and Rep. Peter King is complicit

Article on the Senate creating our new healthcare plan

Right now, the Republicans in the Senate are working in secret to fashion a healthcare bill that will affect every single American. Make no mistake, if it does not affect you, it WILL affect someone you love; your parent, your sibling, your neighbor. Let that sink in for a minute – they are working IN SECRET! They have no plans to hold open hearings or even disclose the bill to the American people before voting on it. They are so set on finally checking this off their bucket list, they don’t care about the people they represent. Of course, this will come back to bite them during the next election, but that will be too late for the hundreds of thousands of Americans who it will damage in the meantime. Or maybe that is their plan. Are they are hoping the weak will actually perish?

And let’s not forget the House, who passed it before the CBO score showed how truly awful it was. Our 2nd district representative, Peter King had this to say about his affirmative vote:

I voted for the bill,” King continued. “I think there are still improvements that have to be made in it.” “I think we can make more improvements in the Senate, and it’s not something I’d be celebrating. To me, it was a business decision — business in the sense that it’s our business to get the job done and move it forward”

No, Mr. King, that’s NOT your job. Your job is to represent your constituents and make sure you don’t vote for something that still needs ‘improvements’. Your job is to vote NO until it is right. Especially (and it should go without saying, but apparently I have to) something as important as Healthcare for all Americans.

Can you imagine if we all interpreted our jobs that way? If a worker on an engine assembly line noticed cracks and just stamped ‘Approved’ on it and passed it down the line hoping the next line would fix it? Would that make America great?

I have an idea - to all the House Representatives and Senators who vote YES on this travesty of a Healthcare bill, how about it only applies to you and your extended family? How about we test it out on you for about 5 years? Then, and only then, we'll release it to the rest of America.
