Police ID Pedestrian Killed In Bay Shore Hit-And-Run
The 27-year-old was killed after the driver of a rental car struck him while he was crossing Sunrise Highway on Saturday night.
BAY SHORE, NY — Suffolk Police have identified the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash involving a rental car in Bay Shore on Saturday. Antonio Gustavo Lopez-Alvarez, 27, of Far Rockaway, was crossing the highway when he was hit by the driver of a rented 2020 Nissan Altima just east of the 5th Avenue bridge.
The rental car driver, which was heading west, fled the scene on foot. Lopez-Alvarez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver has not yet been identified or arrested.
