Traffic Advisory: Overnight Lane Shifts On Montauk Highway

Drivers are advised that there will be lane shifts in the area starting on Sunday.

BAY SHORE, NY — Driver should expect overnight lane shifts in the Bay Shore starting this weekend, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The lane shifts will take place on Montauk Highway (Route 27A) between the Robert Moses Causeway and Fifth Avenue (Suffolk County Route 13) beginning Sunday.

Lanes will be shifted between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. during pavement restoration work and crack sealing for two weeks. Traffic will remain open in both directions. Work will progress west to east.

Similar work is ongoing or starting soon on six other state roads in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties as part of a $1.6 million crack sealing contract. As with most road projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
