Traffic Advisory: Road Closure At Sunrise Highway

BAY SHORE, NY — The New York State DOT is advising drivers of road closures on westbound Sunrise Highway at the Brook Avenue bridge in Bay Shore this week due to bridge maintenance.

All cars will be detoured off the highway at exit 44 onto the North Service Road and reenter the road after Brook Avenue starting Friday at 10 p.m. until Saturday at 6 p.m.

Closures will no longer take place on Saturday night, Sunday, and early Monday morning.

Two lanes will be closed weeknights beginning Monday until Tuesday, Nov. 24 between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning between exit 44 (Brentwood Road) and exit 43 (Fifth Avenue).

The original work schedule has been altered due to the unfavorable weather conditions expected this weekend.

As with most road and bridge projects, work may be canceled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
