Winter Weather Advisory Issued For LI

LONG ISLAND, NY — A winter weather advisory will be in effect for Long Island from 1 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday.

Mixed precipitation, including freezing rain, is expected, the National Weather Service says. Total snow accumulations of up to an inch and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch are possible.

Difficult travel conditions are possible due to icy roadways. Slow down and use caution while traveling. More sleet and freezing rain are in the forecast Monday night into Tuesday.

Saturday- A slight chance of snow between 10am and 1pm, then a chance of snow and sleet. Cloudy, with a high near 30. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night- Freezing rain and sleet likely before 1am, then snow and freezing rain likely, possibly mixed with sleet. Cloudy, with a low around 26. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday- A chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 10am, then a slight chance of rain, snow, and sleet between 10am and 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday Night- A slight chance of rain before midnight, then a slight chance of rain or freezing rain. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 33. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday- A chance of rain or freezing rain before 10am, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday Night- A chance of rain or freezing rain before midnight, then a chance of freezing rain and sleet. Cloudy, with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday- Freezing rain before 9am, then rain or freezing rain. High near 35. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Tuesday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
