ISLIP, NY - An Islip Terrace 10-year-old boy was honored after raising over $10,000 in donations for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

For the past five summers, Oliver Rivadeneyra has been hosting "Oliver's Lemonade Stand" in front of his home every summer selling lemonade, limeade and baked goods — all to raise money for charity.

He first helped his father build the lemonade stand in 2015 and wanted to look for something meaningful to do with his earnings.

He became aware of St. Jude Children’s Hospital through watching television with his grandmother and was touched by the stories of the children. That's when he decided he wanted to help.

After 5 years and raising $10,000, the Town of Islip honored Rivadeneyra on Tuesday.
