East Islip Bagels Closes Its Doors After 18 Years In Business
The local eatery announced on Wednesday that it will be shutting down.

EAST ISLIP, NY — A longtime East Islip bagel shop will be closing shop, the business announced in a post on Facebook Wednesday. East Islip Bagels, located on 86 E. Main Street, wrote in the post that after 18 years, the store will no longer be in business.
"We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for their support throughout the years," the post read. "We’ve met some great people and made some great friends in the community that will be missed by all of us. 18 years is a long time!"
The post did not include a reason why the eatery is closing. The recent coronavirus pandemic has had a huge effect on local businesses to the point where Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone issued an emergency declaration to provide economic injury disaster loan assistance to small businesses. However, it is not clear if this is the reason East Islip bagels is closing.
