Healthy Meal Business Hummus Fit Opens New Location In Ronkonkoma

RONKONKOMA, NY — Tony Mavruk and his family recently opened a third location of their Mediterranean prepared meal business in Ronkonkoma. Hummus Fit at 200 Ronkonkoma Ave. joins the existing Holbrook and Selden locations of the health-food focused business.

Mavruk, who lives in Lake Ronkonkoma, tells Patch that the Ronkonkoma location will be the biggest.

"This is our first 'mega-kitchen' and meal prep store [for] packing and retail of the meals and protein snacks."

Mavruk says they chose the location as a central hub to be able to distribute their products to all locations and because of their connection to the community.

"The Sachem community has been phenomenal to us. We are comfortable and feel loved here and plus we are a Sachem family as well. We live in this community; my nephews and nieces are in the schools."

The meals range from "super-healthy" for those in the fitness community who eat specific diets to more moderately balanced healthy meals for anyone, Mavruk says.

"One doesn't have be a gym addict to be able to enjoy our meals and snacks. We have customers from all ages enjoying our products."

Hummus Fit offers 60 pre-made meal options, or customers choose a la carte selections, choosing from grilled chicken, red meat, fish, steamed rice and vegetables and creating custom dishes. The food is Mediterranean-inspired American fast casual style but with healthier ingredients and preparation, like leaner cuts of beef, baked cooking, and locally-sourced meat from nearby Chubs Meats in Medford, Mavruk explains.

"We believe in staying local. We also have our protein snack line from overnight oats and protein muffins from Buffin Muffins," made by Mavruk's wife Liana.

Customers can have their meals delivered to Western Suffolk or pick up their orders at one of the three locations.
