Legislator Cilmi Urges Residents To Give Blood
"There is always a critical need for blood, and that's true now more than ever," Cilmi said at a recent blood drive.

Legislator Tom Cilmi recently joined with the Islip Terrace Fire Department to host a blood drive in honor of nineteen year old Heather McNamara, a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with COVID in December. Heather has recovered from COVID but required multiple blood transfusions due to complications.

“There is always a critical need for blood, and that’s true now more than ever. Having taken about a year off from donating due to a surgery, it felt so good to donate again, especially to support my friend Heather,” said Legislator Cilmi. “I urge everyone who is eligible and able, to give as often as possible.”
