New Tex-Mex Restaurant Looking To Open At Former Yoga Studio

The new proposed eatery will only offer take-out and delivery.

EAST ISLIP, NY — A new take-out Tex-Mex restaurant was proposed to take over a former yoga studio in East Islip.

Ole's Fajitas submitted the application for a special permit to open on 15-39 W. Main Street.

The 940-square-feet space, which is currently empty, would turn into a small restaurant which would only provide food and soft drinks through take-out or delivery.

During the Town of Islip planning board meeting, the applicants described spoke on the proposed eatery and spoke on the topic of parking.

The applicants claimed that they monitored the parking in the area and believed traffic would not be an issue, especially since the eatery will not be offering in-person dining.

A sample menu was also provided for the proposed restaurant, which included a variety of soups, sauces, salsas, and sides with hand-rolled tortillas.

The members of the town board voted unanimously to approve the application.
