Tara Bono of East Islip Boxing in LI Fight for Charity
Tara Bono, marketing manager at EmPower Solar in Island Park, is participating in the nation's only all-volunteer charity boxing event.

September 17, 2018; East Islip, NY –Tara Bono of East Islip, marketing manager at EmPower Solar in Island Park, has been selected to be a boxer for the 15th Long Island Fight for Charity, the nation’s only all-volunteer charity boxing event. The Main Event which will be held in November at the Long Island Hilton in Melville is expected to attract more than 1,200 people and raise more than $200,000 for local not-for-profit organizations including Long Island Community Chest, The Genesis School and National Foundation for Human Potential.
Ms. Bono is among Long Island’s brightest, toughest and bravest business professionals who will step in the boxing ring this November. She has chosen “Killer-Watt” as her ring name. The card for the Main Event will include up to 10 bouts, pitting local business professionals against each other for charity.
“I was looking for a way to get more involved with helping Long Islanders in need and putting on boxing gloves for a worthy cause appealed to me,” Tara said. “The charitable cause will keep me focused on training and will help me to stay on track right up until the Main Event when I step into the ring,” said Mr. Bono.

"Tara and all of the charity boxers are enthusiastic and committed to making the 15th Main Event exciting, rewarding and a successful charity fundraiser. They are eager to keep rigorous training schedules so they can be ready both physically and mentally for their matches in November,” said Jamie Austin, Long Island Fight for Charity Co-Founder.
Tickets for the 15th Main Event are available on-line. VIP Tickets (Reserved Seating) are $250; Super Early Bird $99 (now until June 30); Early Bird Tickets $110 (July 1 until August 31); General Tickets $135 (after August 31) Standing Room with Limited Seating. More than 20 local restaurants will provide delicious food and beverages for the event.
