3 Arrested During SLA Inspection At Huntington Bar: Police

The owner and a pair of security guards were arrested at The Big Kahuna Bar and Grill on Saturday, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Three people were arrested Saturday morning during a New York State Liquor Authority Inspection at a Huntington bar, Suffolk police said.

The inspection was conducted at The Big Kahuna Bar and Grill, at 1730 East Jericho Turnpike, at 12:15 a.m., police said.

The owner of the bar, Louis Tejada, 52, of Wading River, was charged with ABC Law: failure to maintain business records (a class A misdemeanor) and obstructed visibility: tinted glass (class A misdemeanor), police said.

Two security guards were charged with NYS General Business Law: unlicensed security guard (an unclassified misdemeanor), police said.

The New York State Liquor Authority issued 16 SLA Violations. The Town of Huntington issued 12 summonses for combined building, fire and code violations to the owner, and the establishment was closed for the night, police said.

Those who were arrested will be arraigned at a later date.

Second Precinct Crime Section officers, in conjunction with Second Squad detectives, Second Precinct Patrol officers, New York State Liquor Authority Investigator, Huntington Town Fire Marshal, Huntington Town Code Enforcement Bureau officers and Huntington Town Public Safety officers, performed the inspection.
