Alice Elizabeth Ferraro, Former Huntington Resident, Dies At 84

MELBOURNE, FL — Alice Elizabeth Ferraro, age 84, passed away peacefully on Aug. 14 at the Life Care Center of Melbourne, Florida.
Alice resided in Florida with her daughter the last few years. She was born Oct. 10, 1935, in New Hyde Park. She was a 1954 graduate of Sewanhaka high school and had interests in the arts and fashion. She enjoyed her family to the fullest and spent many wonderful summers at Knollwood Beach in Huntington, where she was also a resident for a few years.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She worked for Grumman Aerospace on Long Island and was promoted to Key person. She earned several project sterling awards for working on the F14, EA6B, A6E and ground support. Alice’s name is on the lasting Tribute wall as a proud honoree recognized in all areas of the industry and military at the Cradle of Aviation on Long Island.

She was predeceased by her parents Roy and Alice Volkman, her stepmother Celia, brother, Roy (Skip), & sister, Ruth Wren. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Robin, her two grandsons, Jason & Christopher that were the light of her life, loving sister, Erica, and many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Due to the pandemic, a private Celebration of Life will be held in New York at a future date.
