Art League Honors Huntington Resident for Longtime Service

The Art League of Long Island's 60th Annual Members' Exhibition is held at The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery in Dix Hills.

One of Huntington’s oldest residents was honored at the opening of the Art League of Long Island’s 60th Annual Members’ Exhibition on Sunday.

Susan Lederer, who turned 100 years old in August, has been a Huntington resident for 75 years. She was honored by the Art League of Long Island for her longtime service.

Lederer is a charter member of the Huntington Township Art League, which is the original name of the current organization. She was on the league’s first members’ exhibition committee in 1955.

The exhibition will be held through Nov. 29. Part Two of the exhibit will be held Dec. 13 through Jan. 10.

Artists’ receptions and awards presentations at the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery are scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 1pm - 3pm and Sunday, January 10, 1pm - 3 pm respectively.

Awards of Excellence and Honorable Mentions will be determined by exhibition juror Edward McEvoy, Art League of Long Island Executive Director Emeritus.

The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery is open free of charge Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Art League is located at 107 East Deer Park Road in Dix Hills.
