National Bullying Prevention Month kicks off this October across the nation. Have you experienced bullying in Huntington?
HUNTINGTON, NY — National Bullying Prevention Month kicks off this October across the nation.
According to the National Bullying Prevention Center, every day, thousands of young people experience bullying from their peers while at school, after school in their neighborhoods, and even when they are at home, through social media and texts.
"There are many ways to support bullying prevention as an individual or with friends and family, and within your school or community," the center states on its website. (Learn some here)

Here's what Huntington Union Free School District had to say about bullying:
"Students have a right to be free from harassment, bullying, including cyberbullying and/or discrimination, including but not limited to harassment, bullying, including cyberbullying and/or discrimination based on a person’s actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender/gender identity or sex, by school employees or students on school property, on district transportation, at a school function and/or off school property where such harassment, bullying, including cyberbullying and/or discrimination creates or would foreseeably create a risk of substantial disruption within the school environment, or where it is foreseeable that the conduct, threats, intimidation or abuse might reach school property."
