Buttercooky Bakery & Café Of Huntington Undergoes Revamp

HUNTINGTON, NY — Buttercooky Bakery of Huntington will soon be able to officially add "café" to its name. The shop recently completed renovations that will see it add baked goods and seating, according to co-owner Francesco Borgognone.

The interior and exterior were refurbished to have a "modern and contemporary bakery and café feel," and up to 18 people can be seated. In addition to the baked goods Buttercooky has been serving to Huntington residents for the past four years, it will soon offer a new array of menu items: quiche, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, paninis, salads, smoothies, and acai bowls. Borgognone predicted the new menu will be ready in two weeks.

The renovations were made during the coronavirus pandemic. Business and the revamp saw a "tough" stretch due to COVID-19, Borgognone said.

"Many things took longer than expected, but we learned to adapt and overcome many challenges along the way. It was an adjustment period, but we are certainly thrilled with how everything turned out. We are taking all necessary safety precautions and are excited to see many old and new friendly faces."

Borgognone; his brother, Benny Jr.; and their father, Ben, own three Buttercooky Bakery locations: Huntington, Floral Park and Manhasset.

"Running a father-son operation is essentially as enjoyable as working from home," Francesco said. "My family and I treat Buttercooky as if it is our baby. We take care of our employees and customers as if they are family too."

There are no renovation plans for the other two Buttercooky locations, as Manhasset was updated two years ago.

Francesco thanked the people of Huntington for the ongoing support, as without them, the renovations would not be possible.
