Commack's Alissa Braxton Sets Triple Jump Record, Wins In Finals
After breaking the state triple jump record last week, Commack's Alissa Braxton was successful at the Suffolk Track and Field championship.

Commack junior Alissa Braxton last week set the New York State triple jump record - and this week won big at the Suffolk Large School track and field championships at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood.
She won the long jump competition with a 19 feet, 1/4 of an inch jump, and the triple jump with a 40 feet, two inches jump.

Braxton's long jump was the best distance in the state this year - and, according to milesplit.com, she now holds the state record in both the long and triple jump.

Last week, Braxton excelled 41 feet, 9 3/4 inches to break a 17-year old state record at the Ocean Breeze High School Invitational.
