Cops, Firemen Compete In Charity Softball Game In Huntington
The annual event has raised over $125,000 for local charities since 1988.
Play ball: The Huntington Manor Fire Department held its 30th Annual Cops vs. Firemen Charity Softball Game on Sunday at Peter Nelson Park.
The annual event has raised over $125,000 for local charities since its inception. The Second precinct won this year's game, 25-20.
"Throughout the 30 years, many friendships have been made between the firemen and police," Ex-Chief and game coordinator Mike Pastore said. "The event wouldn't be possible without the support of the community and past Chiefs."

This year's game recognized Ex-Chief Lou Agiesta, the first chief when the games began in 1988. Agiesta threw out the first ball of the game to Chief Mike DePasquale.
T-shirts and raffles for prizes donated by local merchants were sold to raise funds for the charity event, according to Mike Pastore.
