
Huntington, NY – Get ready to DRAW OUT! The Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington invites all ages to the Museum and outside in beautiful Heckscher Park during this lively, free community event. Now in its 11th year, artists’ demonstrations, performances, games and hands-on art projects will inspire fun and creativity! For even more excitement, ten Huntington area cultural partners have joined The Heckscher Museum this year in presenting engaging activities for all families! Join us Sunday, September 23, 2018, 12 to 4 PM (Rain date September 30, 2018.)
There are tons of things to do! Try your hand at live figure drawing lead by renowned Long Island artist Christian White. Create a work of art alongside Long Island Biennial exhibiting artists Mario Bakalov, E. Craig Marcin, and Inna Pashina. Paint with watercolors outdoors by Heckscher Pond. Enjoy live music on the terrace by Dead Ahead. Play larger-than-life chess and checkers with Your Move Chess & Games. Enjoy face painting and more with the kids!
This year, The Heckscher Museum of Art welcomes 10 local organizations to DRAW OUT!, each offering inviting art, games, and projects for kids and families. Participating organizations include Art League of Long Island; Huntington Art Center; Huntington Arts Council, Huntington Center for the Performing Arts; Huntington Fine Arts; Huntington Public Library; Northport Historical Society; Vanderbilt Museum; Walt Whitman Birthplace Association; and the Whaling Museum & Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor.

Admission to The Heckscher is free during DRAW OUT! In addition, Docents will be in the galleries to talk about the exhibitions currently on view at The Heckscher Museum: Long Island Biennial and Tile Club: Camaraderie and American Plein Air Painting.
