Driver Hurt After Car Crashes Into Tree, Overturns

A driver was hospitalized after their vehicle struck a tree and overturned in South Huntington on Wednesday morning.

According to fire officials, the crash occurred on Luyster Street near Stratford Drive at 9:08 a.m. The driver was taken to to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Firefighters were on the scene with a heavy rescue truck and handled a fuel spill. Units were under the direction of Chiefs Jon Hoffmann and Jim Glidden, according to PIO Steve Silverman
