Eatons Neck Beach Closed To Swimming Due To High Bacteria Levels

EATONS NECK, NY —Valley Grove Beach in Eatons Neck is closed to bathing because of unacceptable levels of bacteria. The Suffolk County Commissioner's office announced the closure on Thursday.

The Town of Huntington beach will stay closed until repeat testing shows acceptable levels of bacteria.

According to Suffolk County Commissioner of Health Dr. Gregson Pigott,"bathing in bacteria-contaminated water can result in gastrointestinal illness, as well as infections of the eyes, ears, nose, and throat."
