It will feature appetizers, open bar, a silent auction and – in keeping with the event’s literacy theme – a special appearance by author Peter Catalanotto.
Catalanotto, an East Northport native, is an author and illustrator of more than 20 books. He teaches a children’s book writing course at Columbia University, and was once commissioned by former First Lady Laura Bush to illustrate a White House holiday booklet. His books will be available for purchase and autograph after the event.

“Studies clearly demonstrate that early literacy is the key to academic and lifelong success. Our foundation is proud to play a role in fostering a child’s love of reading and putting books in the hands of Long Island children to provide the advantage they need when starting kindergarten," CEO Roberta Senzer said.
