Fourth Of July 2019: What's Open, Closed In Huntington

HUNTINGTON, NY — As families throughout the country celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with fireworks, cookouts and vacations, many services will also take a break for the holiday. July 4 falls on a Thursday this year, and some services will be closed on Friday as well.

Huntington Town Hall will be closed on July 4 and reopen the following day. Other services such as the YMCA will be open on Independence Day, but with different hours than usual.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo also announced that state troopers and local law enforcement agencies will increase patrols to combat intoxicated driving during the holiday from June 29 through July 5, according to a news release.

Here are the openings and closing you need to know about in Huntington.

Huntington Town Hall: Closed on July 4. Open regular hours on July 3 and 5.

Huntington Parks and Recreation Department: Closed on July 4. Open regulars on Wednesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. All public parks in Huntington will be open on Independence Day.

Huntington Town Clerk: Closed on July 4. Open regular hours on July 3 and 5.

Public Library: The Huntington Public Library is closed on July 4. It will be open for its normal hours the rest of the week from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Huntington YMCA: The YMCA is open on July 4, but only from 5 a.m. - 2 p.m. It returns to its normal hours, Friday, July 5, from 5 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Hart Bus: The popular Hart Bus is completely closed on July 4. It will be offering no transport on the day. Regular hours for the rest of the week.
