Friends Of Oheka Offering Scholarships To Local High Schools
Seniors of Town of Huntington high schools can apply to win Otto Kahn scholarships worth at least $1,500.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Friends of OHEKA may not be hosting its annual garden party in 2021, but the non-profit is still offering its Otto Kahn scholarships to seniors at high schools throughout the Town of Huntington, the organization announced Wednesday.
Seniors who are slated to attend college in the fall and will major in performing arts, visual arts, or music can apply for scholarships by April 30. Winners will be awarded at least $1,500, according to Friends of OHEKA.
Eligible high schools are: Cold Spring Harbor; Half Hollow Hills East; Half Hollow Hills West; Harborfields; Huntington; John Glenn; Northport and Walt Whitman. Students of these high schools were urged by the non-profit to consult with their guidance or principal's offices for the applications.

The OHEKA Castle Garden Party for 2021 was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, so there will be no live performances or displays by the winners of the scholarship.
"While our only annual fundraiser, the popular Garden Party is on hold, we are proud of the fact that we are still awarding scholarships this year," Friends of OHEKA stated.

The nonprofit has raised more than $195,000 since 2003 for deserving students.
Friends of OHEKA is dedicated to the protection and preservation of OHEKA Castle, which is at 135 W. Gate Dr., Huntington.
