Got Potholes? How to Report A Pothole In Town Of Huntington

In the wake of the brutal winter weather in the region, tire-hungry potholes are proliferating and pockmarking roadways as quickly as crews repair them.

The Town of Huntington has approximately 784 miles of streets, and none of these roads are an exception to potholes, although they are likely appear on streets that carry the most vehicles, the Town says.

To report potholes on local roads in Huntington, call the Highway Department's Operations Center at 631-499-0444, or log onto Highway at your Service and email the Town where the pothole is located and add a picture.

Potholes result as water from snow and rain seeps into small cracks in the roadway surface, according to state highway officials. As temperatures drop, the water freezes and expands, making the cracks larger until potholes form.
