Greenlawn Couple Nabbed In Credit Card Theft Spree: PD

They stole purses and wallets from a church, steakhouse, Jenny Craig and a pub, police say.

A Greenlawn couple was arrested on Tuesday in connection to numerous credit card thefts that occurred in the Huntington area last week, police say.

According to authorities, 45-year-old Tara Costello and 51-year-old Michael Cuozzo are accused of the following thefts:

  • Stealing a purse containing credit cards at Blackstone Steakhouse, located at 10 Pinelawn Road in Melville, on Sunday, Dec. 23.
  • Stealing a purse containing credit cards at McKeown’s Pub, located at 1 Clinton Ave. in Huntington, on Sunday, Dec. 23.
  • Stealing a wallet containing credit cards at Jenny Craig, located at 723 Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Costello is additionally accused of stealing a purse containing credit cards from a parishioner during mass at St. Francis of Assisi, located at 29 Clay Pitts Road in Greenlawn, on Monday, Dec. 24.

They were arrested at noon and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. Costello was additionally charged with a second count of fourth-degree grand larceny and four counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property for using the stolen credit cards, police say.

The couple was released on bail and will be arraigned at a later date.
