Harborfields High School Has 3 National Merit Finalists
The three are among the top 15,000 students in the nation to be acknowledged for the recognition and have a chance to win a scholarship.

GREENLAWN, NY — Maya Bielawski, Ty Ellenbogen and Jacky Xie, seniors at Harborfields High School, are 2021 National Merit Scholarship Finalists, the school district announced Tuesday.
The three students are among the top 15,000 students in the United States to be acknowledged for this prestigious recognition and will compete for approximately 7,500 available Merit Scholarships, totaling more than $30 million.
Maya and Ty are both active members of the school community and have been recognized for several noteworthy accolades during their time at Harborfields High School.

In April, Maya plans to attend training at Harvard University to earn her Emergency Medical Technician, or EMT, certification. After graduation, Ty intends to study song writing and music business at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Jacky Xie could not be reached for comment by the school district.
Maya, Ty and Jacky each received Certificates of Merit from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in February in commemoration of their outstanding academic achievements.
