GREENLAWN, NY — Students of Thomas J. Lehay Elementary School raised more than $1,700 in April for Ollie’s Angels Animal Rescue, the Harborfields Central School District announced.
The fundraiser was coordinated by student council advisers Stacey Kalish and Augustino Rettino, as well as 18 fifth-grade student government members.
Ollie's Angels was started by a Harborfields resident six years ago and is a foster-based nonprofit dedicated to saving the lives of dogs across the country. Board members and representatives Judi Flanagan and Nicole Deceglie, along with newly adopted Lacey, accepted the check on behalf of Ollie’s Angels.
