GREENLAWN, NY — Eighth-grade students at Oldfield Middle School recently designed cards, banners, lawn signs and videos to honor first responders in their community for their bravery on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, the Harborfields Central School District announced in a news release.
The students raised nearly $1,000 in donations from the United Teachers of Harborfields, district administrators and the school’s PTA.
Huntington Coach provided transportation for 11 eighth graders, free of charge, to visit Huntington Hospital, Stony Brook University Children's Hospital, Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Carillon Nursing Home to deliver the handmade goods.
