HUNTINGTON, NY — Huntington Hospital was awarded a five-star rating from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in its annual 2021 hospital rankings, the hospital announced in a news release.

The CMS Stars program is an important health care guide to hospital quality and is comprised of more than 50 measures addressing important outcomes as hospital mortality, avoidable re-admission, hospital infections and patient experience, according to the hospital.
"We are incredibly proud of the nurses, physicians and so many other professionals who come together every day to provide excellent, safe and compassionate care to our patients and families," said Huntington Hospital Executive Director Nick Fitterman, via news release. "CMS is a measure for both the public to easily understand how health care is delivered and for hospital staff to identify areas of improvement."
